Motörhead was a British rock band that had a profound influence on the development of heavy metal, hard rock, and, in particular, the speed metal and thrash metal genres. Their unique and aggressive musical style was described by the band members simply as "Rock and Roll." The band achieved cult status and maintained a devoted fan base worldwide. Their high-speed, aggressive sound inspired bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, and numerous punk bands. Lemmy's rough, brutal, biker-inspired style and raspy, furious vocals became a benchmark for others to follow. Motörhead is a legend, a pillar of heavy music that for 40 years played loud, fast and honest rock 'n' roll, without following fashion, and educated entire generations of metalheads and punks.
