 Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in 1987 in Seattle. They are among the key representatives of the 1990s grunge movement, along with Nirvana and Pearl Jam. The band is known for its dark, heavy sound, combining elements of hard rock, alternative metal, and grunge, as well as powerful vocals and profound lyrics, often touching on themes of depression, addiction, and loss. The band has had a profound influence on alternative rock and metal. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
