 ZZ Top isn't just a band; it's the embodiment of the Texas spirit. It's when blues meets rock 'n' roll, adds a pint of whiskey, and hurtles down the highway at full speed, no brakes needed. There's no pretense about ZZ Top. They've turned irony into an art form, and veneer into a tool. Beneath those iconic beards and glasses lies the brutal honesty of blues, coupled with the reckless energy of rock 'n' roll. Their aesthetic is a smile over the abyss, where a fancy car and an old guitar mean more than a million words. They're simultaneously funny and majestic, like the fate itself that decreed they become living icons, never removing the mischievous half-smile from their faces. ZZ Top is one of the few bands in rock history that retained its original lineup for over 50 years (until Hill's death). They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2004).
